DeMatha Catholic (Hyattsville, Md.) will open the season against Oscar Smith (Chesepeake, Va.) on Aug. 27, according to report from  NationalHSFootball.com.

DeMatha won the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship, finished 11-1 and was ranked No. 12 in the final Super 25 rankings. Oscar Smith has been a perennial Virginia power and was 13-1 last season with the one loss coming to Westfield in the state 6A title game.

Both teams returns their quarterbacks: Beau English for DeMatha and four-year starter Shon Mitchell for Oscar Smith.

DeMatha will have a busy National Signing Day this week as it loses nearly a half-dozen four-star recruits such as Penn State-bound defensive end Shane Simmons and a trio headed for Maryland — offensive guard Terrance Davis, wide receiver/athlete D.J. Turner and wide receiver Tino Ellis.
