Georgia defensive linemen Derrick Brown and Antonneous Clayton vaulted into the Top 10 in the final ESPN football recruiting rankings for the Class of 2016.

Brown, an uncommitted defensive tackle from Lanier (Buford) is ranked at No. 9 and also added a fifth star. Clayton, an end from Dooly County (Vienna), is No. 10 and has committed to Florida.

“He had an outstanding senior season and getting a chance to see him practice at the Army Bowl, it really just solidified that he deserved to make that jump,” ESPN national recruiting analyst Craig Haubert said in a segment posted on ESPN.com. “He has outstanding size as well as initial quickness.”

Brown was named the American Family Insurance Defensive Player of the Year and the Anthony Munoz Lineman of the Year during the Army Bowl awards.

ESPN had only nine five-stars in this class.

Haubert pointed to Clayton’s size and his performance at the Under Armour All-America Game as reasons for the jump.

“He’s begun to fill out some,” Haubert said. “He had a tremendous first step throughout the Under Armour practices all week. He was constantly disruptive. He was dominant in the one-on-ones and he also showed that in the game. He’s a high upside player.”

At Florida, Clayton will join defensive tackle Shavar Manuel from IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.), who committed in the days after the Under Armour All-American Game.

At No. 1 overall, defensive tackle Rashan Gary from Paramus Catholic in New Jersey went wire-to-wire, finishing where he began.

Gary leads a deep and talented class of defensive tackles. Four of the top seven players in the class, according to ESPN, are defensive tackles. Houston commit Ed Oliver (Westfield; Houston) is No. 4; Clemson commit Dexter Lawrence (Wake Forest, N.C.) is No. 6 and Ole Miss commit Benito Jones (Wayne County High; Waynesboro, Miss.) is No. 7.

Behind Gary is Ole Miss commit offensive tackle Greg Little from Allen, Texas. Ohio State commit defensive end Nick Bosa (St. Thomas Aquinas, Fort Lauderdale) is No. 3, followed by Oliver and Florida State commit cornerbacks Levonta Taylor (Ocean Lakes; Virginia Beach, Va.).

After Lawrence and Jones is Georgia-committed tight end Issac Nauta (IMG Academy) at No. 8 before Brown and Clayton round out the top 10.

Georgia early enrollee Jacob Eason (Lake Stevens, Wash.) is the top quarterback at No. 13, edging out Shea Patterson, an Ole Miss early enrollee from IMG who is ranked as No. 15.

In all, 69 prospects in the ESPN 300 moved at least 30 places with more than half of them moving upward.

Among the biggest movers was outside linebacker Jeffrey McCulloch, from Davis in Aldine, Texas. He has moved from No. 299 to inside the top 100 to No. 26 in the final rankings.

“We love the combination of athleticism and smarts,” Haubert said. “He is someone who can anchor a defense.”

ESPN also has a new No. 1 wide receiver in Arizona State commit N’Keal Harry from Chandler, Ariz. He also bursts into the top 25 at No. 22.

“He has an outstanding combination of size and speed,” Haubert said. “He has tremendous body control. He’s really just a playmaker. Get the football near him and Harry will come down with it.”
