Desert Mirage High School, coming off an undefeated boys’ soccer season that saw the team win a CIF-Southern Section Championship, is the No. 1 seed in the CIF Southern California Regional Division V Boys Soccer Championship this week.
The team Desert Mirage beat for the Southern Section title, Shadow Hills High School, also will have a home game in the first round as the No. 3 seed.
Desert Mirage, 23-0 for the season and a 2-0 winner over Shadow Hills in the CIF-SS championship game last week, will be home Tuesday to face Christian High School of El Cajon. The Patriots were 16-7-2 for the season. The home game for the Rams will start at 4 p.m.
For Shadow Hills, like Desert Mirage from the De Anza League, Tuesday’s 4 p.m. home game will be against Saddleback Valley Christian of San Juan Capistrano. Shadow Hills is 17-7-2 for the season, while Saddleback Valley Christian is 16-4.
Winners of Tuesday’s game will advance to regional semifinal play Thursday against teams and at sites to be determined. The regional final game will be played Saturday.
