Chartiers Valley High School has many talented people within the school but one of the most outstanding talents is Devin Moore, who has been a lead in almost every high school performance whether it is a fall play or spring musical. Also, he is very skilled at the playing the violin. Devin Moore is just all around a fantastic person to have in your life.
Devin started to fall in love with musical theatre in sixth grade, while the musical for that year was Aida. Devin played Zoser in his first musical performance, and he says “I was a lead my first year, which gave me motivation to keep going.” Since sixth grade, Devin has grown so much with all the amazing parts he has gotten to play. a junior, Devin discloses that “Jean Valjean has been my favorite role to play, even though I haven’t performed as Jean yet, it’s been one of my dreams to play Jean Valjean.”
Fall Play is very underrated within CV, but for theatre kids that enjoy acting, it is a great time. This year, Devin played a very serious businessman named Lloyd in Rehearsal for Murder, but Devin’s favorite role of all time in High School was playing the Cheshire Cat. He played the Cheshire Cat two years ago in Alice VS. Wonderland. Another very underrated activity in Chartiers Valley High School is Orchestra, Devin is also very involved with the orchestra. He started to play the violin in third grade and he just grew to be the best he can and now is first chair, and being first chair is a very big deal in the orchestra, and Devin doesn’t take that lightly, he is always practicing to be the best he can.
Devin is a great person to be friends with and Allie Nomides, a junior can remember “We have known each other since we started school. We weren’t particularly fond of each other until seventh grade musical, Annie. In eighth grade we were paired together as Sebastian and King Triton in The Little Mermaid and have been best friends ever since.”
What I found interesting about talking to Devin Moore was that given the question What is your favorite thing to when you are not singing, acting, or playing the violin? Devin quickly responded with the answer of “Physics, or any type of science.”
