Middletown earned the top seed in Division I and Woodbridge netted the top seed in Division II when the pairings for the DIAA football playoffs were announced on Sunday.
The six-team Division I playoffs will begin next weekend with two first-round games. No. 4 Salesianum (7-3) will play host to No. 5 Concord (7-3) at Baynard Stadium at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Baynard Stadium. No. 3 William Penn (9-1) will be home against No. 6 Sussex Central (7-3) at 1 p.m. Saturday.
The top two seeds will swing into action the following weekend. No. 1 Middletown (10-0) will play host to the lowest remaining seed at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25. No. 2 Smyrna (10-0), the defending champions, will play host to the highest remaining seed at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26.
The William Penn-Sussex Central game will determine those matchups. If William Penn wins, the Colonials will travel to Smyrna. If Sussex Central wins, the Golden Knights will be headed to Middletown.
The eight-team Division II playoffs will start with four first-round games next weekend. At 7:30 p.m. Friday, No. 1 Woodbridge will be at home against No. 8 Howard (6-4) and No. 2 Glasgow (10-0) will play host to No. 7 Caravel (7-3).
The Saturday games will be No. 3 St. Georges (8-2) at home against No. 6 Delaware Military Academy (8-2) at 11 a.m., and No. 4 Milford (9-1) at home against No. 5 Wilmington Friends (9-1) at 7:30.
The Division II semifinals will also be held Nov. 25-26, with the pairings determined by the seedings of the first-round winners. The highest remaining seed will play host to the lowest remaining seed, and the second-highest remaining seed will play host to the second-lowest remaining seed.
Both championship games will be played Saturday, Dec. 3 at Delaware Stadium. The Division I final will kick off at 1 p.m., with the Division II final scheduled to start at 5:30. The DIAA Unified Flag Football championship game will be played in between the two games.
