Duke has officially entered the race for New Albany sophomore standout Romeo Langford.
New Albany coach Jim Shannon said Duke assistants Jon Scheyer and Nolan Smith are expected to be in Thursday at the school to watch Langford.
The 6-4 Langford, considered one of the top 2018 prospects in the country, led New Albany to a Class 4A state championship. He averaged 30.2 points per game as a sophomore.
Langford has offers from Indiana, IUPUI, Louisville, Purdue, UCLA and Vanderbilt.
• Former Lawrence North guard Daeshon Francis committed to Stephen F. Austin on Tuesday. The 6-3 Francis averaged 4.5 points and 2.1 rebounds in 33 games as a freshman at Wisconsin-Green Bay in 2014-15. Francis spent last season at Midland College, a Texas junior college.
