East Henderson football coach resigns




EAST FLAT ROCK – East Henderson football coach Mac McMillan has resigned.

He went 4-29 in three years. The Eagles (0-11) were outscored 501-76 this fall and one of two winless teams in Western North Carolina along with North Buncombe (0-11).

East Henderson lost its final game under McMillan on Nov. 4 — a 48-14 home defeat at the hands of West Henderson. McMillian was a line coach at Mars Hill University before accepting the high school job in January of 2014.

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (Nov. 9, 2016) – East Henderson High’s head football coach, John McMillan announced his resignation today, after having led the Eagle football program for the past three years.  

Administrators at East Henderson High thanked Coach McMillan for his the countless hours and dedication he put into the school’s football program.  

“I am very thankful to East Henderson High School administration and staff for their support and the relationships built with coaches and players that will last a lifetime,” McMillan said. “At this time I need to step down to have more time to be with my family.” 

East Henderson High will be accepting applications until the position is filled. Interested applicants should submit their applications to Athletic Director Doug Justice at dajustice@hcpsnc.org, or Principal Carl Taylor at cwtaylor@hcpsnc.org.
