A pair of East Nashville football players — Dondre Ezell and Demarquez Trotter — recently made commitments to Football Championship Subdivision schools.
Ezell, a 6-foot, 285-pound two-way lineman, announced his decision via Twitter on Monday night, posting from his account, “I am proud to announce my commitment to Tennessee Tech University.”
Trotter, a 6-foot, 180-pound defensive back and wide receiver, pledged with Indiana State on Tuesday afternoon, tweeting, “I would like to say I will be spending my four years of my life at Indiana State University.https://twitter.com/d_trotter5/status/768164630749442049
Ezell, a 2015 All-Region 5-3A selection, recorded 54 total tackles — three behind the line of scrimmage — with five sacks and a forced fumble for East Nashville last season.
Trotter, who scored the game-winning touchdown in Friday’s 21-14 win over Rossview, tallied 25 tackles with an interception last season while also hauling in nine catches for 281 yards and three touchdowns.
