East Rock boys, Stonewall girls win Buffalo Gap meet

BUFFALO GAP — East Rockingham took the boys cross county meet, while Stonewall Jackson captured the girls meet Wednesday afternoon.

East Rock’s Braeden Wallace was the overall boys winner with a time of 18:29, helping lead his team to a meet low 21 points. Stonewall finished second with 35 points, while Stuart Hall was third with 103. Buffalo Gap didn’t field a full team, but Oriol Marin led the Bison runners, finishing 10th with a time of 20 minutes flat.

In the girls meet, Stonewall’s Brandy Webb led the way with a first-place finish in 21:48. Stonewall won the meet with 36 points, while East Rock was second at 44 points and Buffalo Gap was third with 61 points. Gap’s Tiffany Simmons was fourth overall with a time of 22:43. Marybeth Strickler finished 10th overall and was second for the Bison with a time of 25:59.
