Longtime instructor Ernie Romero has been hired as Resurrection Christian School’s baseball coach.
The school announced the hiring on Tuesday.
Romero previously coached at Poudre High School and has owned and directed the Front Range Baseball School for the past 30 years.
“I am very excited to return to high school coaching and coach the Resurrection baseball program,” Romero said in a press release from the school. “I love teaching the game of baseball and have been preparing for this opportunity for a long time. Resurrection Christian School is a special place, I look forward to working with the student-athletes and being a part of the Resurrection Christian High School community.”
Romero replaces Grant MacAlmon, who led the Cougars to a 68-24 record over the last four years. RCS won the Class 2A title in 2014 and made at least the quarterfinals each year under MacAlmon.
RCS has moved up to 3A for the 2017 season.
