Fairport’s football team has another win streak, and this one comes without a loss on the team’s record after four weeks of the high school season.

The Red Raiders, who won their last three 2015 regular season games, are ranked sixth in the latest Democrat and Chronicle/Section V Large Schools Football Coaches Poll. They play No. 9 Webster Schroeder (2-2), 3 p.m. Saturday at Fairport.

Webster Schroeder has put a scare into two other undefeated Monroe County league teams. Rush-Henrietta was unbeaten when it arrived at Schroeder in Week 3, and fell 16-14 to the Warriors. Top-ranked Victor escaped from Schroeder last week with a 14-7 win.

“We feel confident, but we can’t get too confident,” Fairport senior defensive end Matt Muncey said. “It’s only the regular season, and what matters is sectionals.

“I feel like we are more motivated, we refuse to lose. Everyone brings it every single day in practice and games.”

Just past the halfway point of the regular season, the Red Raiders hope to stay on track in their first Section V Class AA Championship since 1998.
