Lamont Wade is one of the nation’s most sought after recruits. A native of Clairton, Penn., he took to Twitter to announce that Michigan had once been his dream school … and then to trash the Wolverines for misreading the tea leaves before the recruiting rankings had fully settled.
Wade, a five-star cornerback (according to Rivals.com) who competes for Clairton High just outside Pittsburgh, took Michigan’s decision to make him attend the Wolverines’ football camp too earn a scholarship offer as a personal affront. As a result, Michigan is no longer one of the programs he’s considering, despite his aforementioned childhood dedication to the school.
Here’s Wade letting the world in on his own frustration, as brought to our attention by Land of 10:
With Michigan out, Wade is reportedly considering Ohio State, Penn State, Pitt, West Virginia, Alabama, UCLA, Tennessee and Mississippi State. Suffice to say, he’s still a long way from a final decision, and anything may still happen to change his mind into reconsidering the Wolverines. For now, Wade’s wisdom stands as a warning to coaches and fellow prospects alike, particularly those in Ann Arbor.
