St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale) wide receiver Trevon Grimes has announced his high school career is over after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during Friday’s 25-24 triple-overtime loss to top-ranked Bishop Gorman.

Grimes is ranked as the No. 3 wide receiver recruit in the Class of 2017 by the 247Sports Composite and is an Ohio State commit. He is ranked as the No. 16 player overall.

He was injured on a play in the end zone that resulted in an interception. He was helped off the field and then put on a stretcher and taken to the locker room.

In an odd coincidence, this is the second consecutive season that an Ohio State commit from Aquinas torn an ACL during his senior year on high school. Defensive end Nick Bosa was injured last fall.
