Fort volleyball turns tables on Wilson with sweep

FISHERSVILLE — Fort Defiance’s volleyball team gained a measure of revenge for an opening-night loss to Wilson Memorial, sweeping past the Green Hornets on Thursday at Wilson Memorial High School.

The Indians won by scores of 25-15, 25-18 and 25-20.

Madi Kimmell led the way for the Indians with 14 assists, nine digs, three kills and two aces. Cori Cleveland had 17 digs, seven kills and one ace, while Casey Mozingo added 16 digs, eight kills, two aces and one block.

Also contributing for Fort were Ashley Humphries with 13 digs and Jayden Beasley with five kills and five blocks.

In the jayvee match, Fort won in two sets, 25-21 and 25-15. Jordan Shulz led the way with three kills.

The Indians are back in action Tuesday at Stuarts Draft.
