Four local high school basketball players were named to all-state teams on Friday.
The lone first-team all-state honoree from the area is Resurrection Christian junior Tanner Ervin, who led Class 2A in scoring at 24.3 points per game. He also averaged five assists per game for the 25-1 Cougars, who finished runner-up in 2A.
RCS teammate Luke Fick was second-team all-state in 2A after averaging 17.5 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.9 steals per game.
The lone 5A player from Fort Collins to earn all-state honors was Fossil Ridge’s Braxton Bertolette, who was named to second team. The junior led 5A in scoring at 23.6 points per game, shooting 41 percent from 3-point territory.
The only local girl to make all-state is Heritage Christian’s Sarah McGinley, who made second team in 1A. The junior helped lead the Eagles to a 23-3 record and Great Eight appearance.
McGinley averaged 19.6 points per game, 11.4 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 3.3 steals and 2.5 blocks.
The all-state teams are presented by CHSAANow.com, ColoradoPreps.com and MaxPreps and are compiled via voting from coaches around the state.
