Miami coach Mark Richt got four-star athlete Deejay Dallas to commit to him once when Richt was at Georgia. He now has gotten him to commit again, this time with the Hurricanes.
“I have committed to Miami,” Dallas told Scout.com. “This is the perfect time for me to commit because I am comfortable with my decision and my family is at ease. I asked my family if I could go through with it, they gave me the green light, so that was that.
“I had been second-guessing myself since late February and into early March, but this month kind of sealed the deal for me.”
Dallas from Glynn Academy (Brunswick, Ga.) could play wide receiver and in the return game for Miami. Other schools were recruiting him to play defensive back. He chose Miami over Alabama, Michigan, Georgia Tech, and Oregon.
He is ranked as the No. 21 athlete in the nation by Scout in the Class of 2017 and No. 12 by 247Sports.
Dallas is the 15th commitment for Miami in the class but only the third from outside Florida.
