Fred Hansard, a four-star defensive tackle from The Hun School (Princeton, N.J.), announced Friday his commitment to Jim McElwain and the Florida Gators.
Hansard announced via a Bleacher Report video.
Ranked the fourth-best player in New Jersey, Hansard is Florida’s 15th commitment in the class of 2017.
“A kid that size (6-3, 304) that can move that quick and play that hard, they’re rare,” Hansard’s coach Todd Smith told 247Sports.
Smith told the website that Hansard can play anywhere on the defensive line, and he has cut 20 pounds.
“He looks tremendous right now. He has his weight back down to where he needs to be and now his quickness is a factor along with his size.”
According to 247Sports, Florida now has the 13th-best class for 2017.
