With just over a month to go until the season opener, Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.) forward Cody Riley ended his recruitment picking UCLA over Kansas, USC, Connecticut and Oklahoma on Monday.
Riley, long believed to be a Bruins lean, had taken multiple visits to UCLA and was there most recently on Oct. 8.
This past summer he made up half of, arguably, the most dominant frontcourt in the prestigious Nike EYBL, averaging 13.7 points and 7.3 rebounds a game while playing alongside Marvin Bagley III, the No. 1 overall junior in the ESPN 60.
Riley, who is ranked No. 45 overall in the ESPN 100, pumped in 12.2 points and 10 rebounds a game at Nike Peach Jam in July.
Riley enhances an already strong class for the Bruins, joining Foothills Christian (El Cajon, Calif.) five-star point guard Jaylen Hands, Centennial (Corona, Calif.) center Jalen Hill and Chino Hills (Chino Hills, Calif.) shooting guard LiAngelo Ball to form their 2017 haul this far.
Here’s what the Bruins are getting in Riley.
