Leave it to the Bleacher Report Studios team to take advantage of a holiday in producing a unique video commitment for one of the nation’s top remaining uncommitted linebackers.
On Monday, Kenney “K.J.” Britt announced his commitment to in-state power Auburn in a video released on Bleacher Report and Twitter, featuring Britt welcoming a series of different mascots — i.e., a kid dressed as an alligator, another as a bulldog — as trick-or-treaters. When a mini-Gus Malzahn shows up at the door, Britt gives him a giant Hershey’s bar featuring an image of Britt in action, with the phrase “official commitment” written on it.
As the video alluded to, Britt — a 6-foot, 230+-pound prospect from Alabama’s Oxford High — picked Auburn ahead of Florida, Georgia and scholarship offers from more than a dozen other powers, including Alabama, Clemson, Louisville, LSU, Michigan and Tennessee, among others. Britt was apparently drawn to the Tigers by a pair of visits to the campus on back-to-back weekends over the summer. Still, he didn’t make his decision official until after he finished his official visits, including stops at Stanford and Ole Miss in October.
While it’s too early to know how long it will take Britt to familiarize himself with the systems and pace at Auburn and the SEC, there’s no question that he’s a big get for Malzahn. Almost as big as a giant candy bar, in fact.
