Four-star safety Nigel Warrior signs his letter of intent with Tennessee

Peachtree Ridge (Suwanee, Ga.) safety Nigel Warrior is officially a Vol.

The four-star, No. 4 safety in the Class of 2016 signed his National Letter of Intent to attend Tennessee on Wednesday morning.

Warrior picked Vols over the likes of Alabama, Georgia and LSU, who he was also considering.

For Warrior, football is in his blood. His father, Dale Carter, who also attended Tennessee, was a four-time Pro Bowl cornerback and the 1992 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Back in October, Warrior told USA TODAY Sports that he’s learned a lot from his father, and he went as far as comparing his game to that of the NFL veteran.

“I watch his old film, he was fast and he always found the ball. He could see what a receiver would do before he ever did it,” said Warrior, who went on to talk about how his dad helps him with his footwork, eyes, and the “basic things” that come with being a defensive back.

Known for being a hard-hitting ball-hawk in the secondary, Warrior’s commitment gives the Vols a great start to National Signing Day.
