Here is a look at the top football performers from Week 9 games in the Lansing area. This listing reflects stats submitted to the LSJ.

STARS OF THE NIGHT

KOLBY CANFIELD, STOCKBRIDGE: The Lansing area’s leading receiver had a state record 19 catches for 232 yards and four touchdowns in a win over Parchment.

MASON GEE-MONTGOMERY, STOCKBRIDGE: The senior quarterback completed 29 of 35 passes for 432 yards and six touchdowns in a 50-34 victory over Parchment.

MATTHEW GRAND-GIRARD, IONIA: Helped the Bulldogs to a 35-30 comeback win over Division 4 No. 9-ranked Lakewood by catching seven passes for 208 yards and three touchdowns. Two of his scores came in the second half as Ionia overcame a 30-7 deficit.

COLTON LEYKAUF, PERRY: Returned two punts for touchdowns and also had a receiving touchdown in the Ramblers’ 52-7 win over Bath. Leykauf returned punts 39 and 35 yards for touchdowns in the opening quarter and also had a 30-yard TD reception in the second quarter. Leykauf’s performance helped Perry finish the regular season above .500 for the first time since 2006.

JD ROSS, DEWITT: The senior played a big role in a historic night for the Panthers by rushing for 170 yards and two touchdowns in a victory over Portage Northern. Ross helped the Panthers rush for a school record 484 yards – breaking the old record of 462 from 1993. He also had 63 receiving yards and a touchdown.

NICK SEMKE, FOWLERVILLE: Ran for 210 yards and five touchdowns and completed 11 of 16 passes for 173 yards and two scores while helping the Gladiators to a 49-34 victory over Waverly.

DREW SHAFER, EATON RAPIDS: Scored what proved to be the game-winning touchdown for the Greyhounds in their rivalry win over Charlotte. Shafer had six catches for 166 yards and a touchdown and also returned a kickoff 76 yards for a score.

DREW STOUT, CARSON CITY-CRYSTAL: The sophomore had a big night in the Eagles’ 56-19 win over Potterville, throwing for 384 yards and five touchdowns and rushing for 92 yards and a score. Stout also had two interceptions and returned one 77 yards for a touchdown.
