HENDERSONVILLE A 21-yard touchdown run by Chris Peach gave the Buccaneers (3-1, 2-0 Region 6-5A) a come-from-behind victory over their cross-town rival for the first time in four years.

The Commandos (2-2, 0-2) led 23-10 with 9:59 to play in regulation after Jordan Amis recovered a fumble in the end zone.

Pope John Paul II 20, Father Ryan 17

Trailing with six seconds left, Father Ryan faked a 36 yard field goal that landed harmlessly to the turf that preserved a Pope John Paul II (3-1, 0-1 Division II-Class AA) win.

The Knights’ Jamaal Thompson had two touchdowns in the first half that put Father Ryan (2-2, 0-2) down by a 14 count in the first quarter.

Gallatin 50, Henry County 49 (Overtime)

A 4-yard run by Jordan Mason and extra point by Austin Wright sealed a 50-49 overtime victory for Gallatin (3-1). Mason finished with 262 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Colin Minor threw 3 touchdown passes, including a 9-yard pass to Marcus DeVault late in the 4th to send the game into overtime.

White House Heritage 21, Portland 14 (Thursday)

Emmanuel Johnson scored on a 35-yard touchdown run with 2:43 remaining and recovered the subsequent onside kick, but the Panthers (1-3) were unable to close the gap any further against the Patriots (3-1).

Austin Hardy returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown in the first half.
