LOS ANGELES – There’s not a batter in the country that southpaw pitcher Kyle Muller couldn’t consistently send back to the dugout frustrated.

Sydney McLaughlin would probably give a cheetah a run for its money in a foot race and stopping Jayson Tatum from, not scoring but dominating a basketball game is next to impossible.

But when that trio gathered with seven of the other Gatorade Player of the Year winners in their respective sports Monday night at Lucky Strike, the athletes only route to a strike was, well, luck.

Gutter ball after gutter ball the star athletes laughed and unwound for hours on the eve of their big night.

Gatorade will name its Male and Female Athletes of the Year Tuesday night at the  L.A. Hotel.

Kyler Murray and Candace Hill took home the hardware last year.

McLaughlin broke the century mark first, taking the crown with a 116.

“We’re just out here having fun,” Volleyball Player of the Year Khalia Lanier said. “That’s the only thing we’re focused on. Just enjoying every moment.”
