The Gatorade State Boys Basketball Players of the Year were selected based on athletic production and impact in the 2015-16 fall season. Each winner also demonstrated high academic achievement and exemplary personal character, including volunteerism, sportsmanship and community leadership.

THE WINNER: Keith Brown
THE BASICS
School: Pelham (N.H.)
Grade: Senior
Position: Guard
Height: 6-foot-2
Weight: 190 pounds
Athletic achievement: He led the Pythons to a 23-2 record and the Division III state championship this past season. Brown averaged 28.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game while shooting 63 percent from inside the arc. The 2016 Division III Player of the Year and New Hampshire’s Mr. Basketball award winner, he scored 22 points with 13 rebounds in a 43-39 win over Kearsarge in the title-clinching game. Brown concluded his prep career with 1,978 points.
Academic excellence: Brown has maintained a 3.32 GPA.
Exemplary character: A member of the Future Business Leaders of America, he has volunteered locally on behalf of an animal adoption program and as a youth basketball coach.
THE PRAISE
“Keith Brown is an outstanding player and person,” said Eric Saucier, head coach at Conant High. “On the court, he is the best player in the state of New Hampshire. He has worked on his game harder than anyone in the last four years and it has shown in his progression.”
THE FUTURE: Brown remains undecided upon a collegiate destination.
