Gorman's Biaggio Ali Walsh, grandson of Muhammad Ali, commits to Cal football

Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) running back Biaggio Ali Walsh, the grandson of Muhammad Ali, has committed to Cal.

He announced his decision on Twitter on Sunday after a campus visit this weekend.

Ali Walsh, a 5-10, 18-pound running back, was named the Gatorade Nevada Player of the Year last fall, rushing for 2,451 rushing with 36 total touchdowns and an average of 12.1 yards per carry as a junior as Bishop Gorman won its seventh consecutive state title and a second consecutive Super 25 crown.

He has dedicated his senior season to the memory of his Poppy, who died in June.

Ali Walsh also has already struck up a text relationship with former Cal star Marshawn Lynch, who was among the first to get the news of Ali Walsh’s commitment.
