Tempe (Ariz.) Corona del Sol senior point guard Alex Barcello announced on Twitter on Friday that he has committed to the University of Arizona to play basketball.
Barcello had narrowed it to Arizona, Indiana, Stanford, Butler and Virginia early this month.
The 6-foot-2 Barcello played key roles in helping Corona del Sol win state championships his freshman and sophomore seasons.
Arizona offered Barcello a scholarship after he scored 50 points against Gilbert Perry and Markus Howard in a game during his sophomore season. Barcello just took his official visit to Arizona.
