A pair of Catholic High teammates were named to the Class 3A All-State football team, as selected by members of the media around the state.
Senior defensive back Simeon Smiley was named a first-team All-State selection at defensive back, while kicker Billy Harris also garnered a first-team nod.
Smiley, who was also a Pensacola News Journal first-team All-Area selection, was a shutdown corner for the Crusaders this season.
He finished the year with 14 tackles, one interception and two forced fumbles as teams routinely ran the opposite direction of where he lined up. He also finished with 344 all-purpose yards and scored four touchdowns.
Harris converted 17-of-19 extra point attempts and made good on 9-of-12 field goals with a long of 47. He also punted five times for an average of 38.6 yards per punt.
