High school football season kicks off next Friday, but several area teams will take part in controlled scrimmages this week, giving fans a teaser of next week’s action. Here’s a quick schedule of area scrimmages set for Friday:

New Albany black/white scrimmage, 6 p.m.

Providence at Silver Creek, 7 p.m.

Jennings County at Brownstown, 7 p.m.

Bedford North Lawrence at Mitchell, 7 p.m.
