Island Coast sophomore Nicholas Larsen made it to the fifth round of the consolation bracket of the FHSAA bowling championships on Thursday at Boardwalk Bowl Entertainment Center in Orlando.

Larsen, the No. 12, knocked off Zayne LaForty, before losing to No. 4 Panagiotis Vergos, who was the eventual runner-up. He was knocked out of the tournament by No. 3 Igar Rodriguez.

Cape Coral’s Noah Hamilton lost his first match to Jacob Hopper before moving on to the consolation bracket and losing his first game to No. 1 Gage Stelling.

In the girls field, Island Coast’s Mikayla Simer, the No. 14 seed, knocked off No. 3 Emilie Passanante in her first match before losing to Adrianna Stacy.

The Island Coast boys earned lost their first game to Sebring. In the consolation bracket, they knocked off East Ridge High School, before being eliminated by Lake Mary High School.

The Cape Coral boys earned lost to Lake Mary High School in the opening bracket before being eliminated by Miami Christian School in the consolation bracket.

The Island Coast girls lost their first game to Sebring High School, knocked off Viera in the consolation bracket’s first round, and then lost to Coral Springs Charter School.

Girls Soccer

North Fort Myers 9, Lehigh 0: Taylor Kruse and Emilee Hauser led the way for the Red Knights, netting three goals each.

Canterbury 8, SFCA 0: Peyton Hornung led the way for the Cougars netting three goals. Lauren Bailey added a goal.

Oasis 8, St. John Neumann 0: Alyssa Abbondondolo netted four goals for the Sharks. Cara Zimmerman also scored two goals.

GameTime at Gulf Coast Town Center offers six lanes of mini-bowling. The family amusement center opened Christmas Day.
