Estero senior Arye Beck was sixth overall at the FLrunners.com Invitational Race of Champions on Saturday in Titusville, crossing the finish line in 16:08 to help the Wildcats to a sixth-place performance.

Fort Myers, which finished third as a team with 146 points, saw senior Josh Kennedy place 14th overall in 16:33, while teammate Evan Babatz was 24th in 16:49. The JV boys team placed first in the blue division. Sophomore Ian Olney won the overall race in 18:59 while the Green Wave placed five in the top 6.

LaBelle senior Yoan Prado crossed the finish line in 16:37 to claim an 18th place performance.

In the girls Race of Championships, Riverdale’s Chelsea Oliver secured a top 20 performance by claiming a time of 19:21, while Estero’s Alayna Goll was 24th in a time of 19:27.

In the girls Invite, Canterbury’s Jessica Edwards was 12th overall in 20:53.

In the mixed middle school race, a local running club, Elite Runner, fielded a team and had two runners finish in back-to-back places during the 2-mile race. Liam Holston was sixth in 11:22 and Kevin Vazquez was seventh in 11:25.

Great American Cross Country Festival

Fort Myers senior Krissy Gear secured a 15th place finish in the Great American Cross Country Festival at Cary, North Carolina, helping the Green Wave girls claim a 10th place finish in the girls’ race of champions.

Gear secured a time of 18:28, Fiona Kurland was 34th in 19:09 and Kailyn Kaminski was 39th in 19:23.
