Dylan Cuvelier scored three goals and had one assist to lead the Highland High School boys lacrosse team to a 10-5 win over visiting Red Hook on Friday.
Tyler Jollie (two goals, one assist), Paul Rhodes (two goals, one assist), Kyle Merget (two goals, two assists) and Chris Schlappich (one goal) each contributed.
Giorgio D’Angelo made 10 saves for the Huskies (2-1).
“We played well. We came out quick. Winning 7-2 at halftime,” Highland coach Tom Schlappich said. “We ended up playing a lot of defense in the third quarter because of some penalties, but we held it and played smart lacrosse.
“Red Hook is a really good team, I think they’re going to do well this year.”
Hudson Miller led Red Hook with two goals. Max Spagnon, Nick Michitsch and Mike Gildersleeve each scored one goal. Michitsch added an assist.
Keeper Liam Quinlan made 13 saves for the Raiders (0-1).
Highlighted by a 6-2, 6-0 win at first singles by Andrew Tyson, host Rhinebeck beat John A. Coleman Catholic, 5-0.
At second singles, Alec Gautier picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win while at third singles Jamie Deryshire won 6-0, 6-0.
At first doubles, Mitchell Hutchins and Derek Livesey won 6-0, 6-1. The second doubles team of Alice Magnusson and Sebastian Gaddis picked up a 6-0, 6-1 victory.
Rhinebeck visits Rondout Valley on Monday.
John Jay 4, Mahopac 3 — Richard O’Keefe defeated Matt Arrigo, 7-5, 6-1, at second singles to lead Patriots over host Mahopac.
Sri Kumar beat Alin Busuljevic, 7-5, 6-4, in second singles for the Patriots. Justin Yu and Kendall Steinberg topped Jared Raiola and Connor Walpole, 6-3, 6-2, in first doubles. John Aiken and Pavankumar Ramadass beat Dom LiLieto and Jake D’Agnese, 6-2, 6-1, in second singles.
Arlington 6, Our Lady of Lourdes 1 — Tom Ren beat Kevin Huang at second singles, 3-6, 6-1, 10-8 to help lift visiting Arlington to its first win of the season. At third singles, Tim Kim topped Josh Jacobs, 6-3, 6-3.
Albert Zhu beat Adam Cooper at first singles for the Warriors’ victory.
Onteora 5, Pine Plains 0 — Tomas Pesko-West defeated Omar Santiago, 6-0, 6-0, in first singles to lead Onteora, which swept the host Bombers.
Maeve Connolly, Allison Brady, Marge McGahay, Grace Rappelyea and Lu Clark each scored for visiting Lourdes, but it came in a 14-5 road loss to Mahopac.
Goalie Gab Breault had seven saves for the Warriors.
Lourdes (1-2) hosts Wappingers at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
