HUTTO, TEXAS—A Hutto (Texas) football coach and teacher has been arrested on allegations he was romantically involved with a student.
Jake Fenske, who according to Hutto High School’s website also taught science, has been charged with improper relationship between educator and student.
Sources told KVUE that a 16-year-old girl’s father first alerted Hutto police to the relationship after he found inappropriate texts on his daughter’s phone from Fenske. The two had also been communicating through Snapchat.
When detectives questioned the teenager she admitted they had begun dating in March. Fenske also admitted to detectives they were dating and “in love.”
Fenske told detectives he and the girl had sex at his apartment, in his truck and oral sex in his classroom at Hutto High School.
A Hutto ISD spokesperson told KVUE that Fenske is on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
The district said in a release it is fully cooperating with police and its human resources department is awaiting clearance to resume its own investigation.
Online records at the Williamson County Jail state Fenske was arrested Friday. He was released Friday after posting $20,000 bond.
