Apple Valley (Minn.) stars Gary Trent Jr. and Tre Jones got to play where their dad and brother work, respectively, this weekend.
Trent, son of Minnesota Timberwolves assistant coach Gary Trent, and Jones, brother of Timberwolves guard Tyus Jones, led Apple Valley to a 79-46 victory against the Lausanne Collegiate School (Memphis) in the Timberwolves Shootout at the Target Center.
“We got Apple Valley represented well up here at Target Center,” Tyus Jones told TwinCities.com.
Trent scored 27 and Jones added 14 for the defending Class AAAA state champions.
“We want to be a lot better than we are right now,” Tre Jones told Timberwolves.com. “We’re playing pretty sloppy, and we can clean up a lot of things. Part of that is just getting used to the floor. It’s bigger. But it’s also on ourselves with effort and things like that.”
