Effectiveness of the Olweus program within the high-school has seen a lack of support from the students, due to its constant repetitiveness and lack of interesting students. With Dr. Seuss videos, students often questioned the age at which this program should be taught to, or format it to the high-school. The advisory program is seen as way more beneficial to the student body instead of Olweus. Students were able to comment on the topic:

Tanner Lacher: “I would rather have Advisory over Olweus due to it changing unlike Olweus.”

Chris McCoulgh: “Olweus isn’t a big tool in the high-school; it is more for younger kids. Advisory is more for juniors and seniors, not so much freshmen and sophomore classes.”

Mark Kelly: “Advisory I find enjoyable because of the survey’s we must fill out, they show us new things to explore in the job world. Olweus isn’t a good resource anymore, I feel half the people in my class never pay attention.”

Sarah Loeffert: “Advisory seems more important than Olweus and I mean, there isn’t much helpful stuff in Olweus anymore.”

Caitlin George: “It is confusing, we are transitioning into adult life and they treat us like little kids. I don’t understand how Dr. Seuss could help us about bullying.”

Well the response of the students with Olweus now being discontinued in our school would be positive with the thought of change. Advisory being more of a constant instead of the undermining Olweus which seems ineffective for helping bullying in the high- school setting.
