In the interest of not burying the lede, yes, Jadeveon Clowney has a cousin whose name is Demon. Now Demon Clowney is headed to the school where his famous cousin made his name and reputation.
It turns out the younger Clowney is much younger than his elder cousin. Demon Clowney is a defensive end in the Class of 2020, and has spent just one season lining up for St. John’s College High in Washington, D.C. He already stands 6-foot-6, and while he could use to add more beef to his current 185-pound frame, he has some of the same athleticism that marked his cousin out as a once-in-a-generation dominant defensive player at the collegiate level.
Demon Clowney is also a serious basketball player, though that may fade as his football recruitment picks up. That’s assuming he doesn’t feel so comfortable in his cousin’s shoes that he decides to attend South Carolina right now, a possibility that seems unlikely if not completely out of the question.
As for the younger Clowney’s future, given his cousin’s prior experience we can be sure of one thing: We’ll see Demon Clowney on a Name of the Year bracket sooner rather than later.
