Park Tudor’s Jaren Jackson Jr. had two points and six rebounds to help the USA win the FIBA U17 World Championship with a 96-56 win over Turkey on Sunday in Zaragoza, Spain.
Gary Trent led USA with 17 points as the USA team set a record for largest scoring margin in a U17 championship. Collin Sexton, a point guard from Georgia, was named the MVP of the World Championship. Sexton averaged 17 points and 4.2 assists for the tournament.
The 6-10 Jackson shot 53 percent from the field in six games. He averaged 4.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocked shots. Jackson is a major recruiting target with offers from Butler, Indiana, Notre Dame, Purdue, Maryland, Michigan State and several more.
