Review of records finds 16 more points during seventh-grade season
After a review of her records, Jenkins High School senior Whitney Creech has even more points than originally thought.
In a text message Monday, Jenkins coach Ashley Addington wrote that a review of Creech’s career found 16 more points than originally recorded during her seventh-grade season. The review bumped her seventh-grade total from 375 points to 391.

“We went over the scorebook three times,” Addington wrote.
The correction now gives Creech 5,282 career points. She passed Highlands’ Jaime Walz (4,948 career points) as Kentucky’s all-time leading scorer in a 90-87 overtime victory at Paintsville on Feb. 2.
Creech, a Western Kentucky University signee, is averaging 50.5 points and 14.4 rebounds per game this season.
Jenkins (15-13) will host June Buchanan at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in a 53rd District Tournament semifinal, with a spot in the 14th Region Tournament on the line. Jenkins never has advanced past the district tournament during Creech’s tenure with the program, which began when she was in the fifth grade.
