Madison Prep knocked Mangham out of the state playoffs.

A player from John Curtis has been given a two-game suspension for violation of the LHSAA’s sportsmanship rule, according to a release from the LHSAA on Wednesday afternoon.

The LHSAA does not release names of penalized student-athletes, but Patriots’ coach J.T. Curtis told The Times it was just one player and it stemmed from an incident in Curtis’ last Division I quarterfinal game against Rummel.

The Patriots (10-0) will host Evangel Christian Academy (10-2) Friday night at Zephyr Field in New Orleans.

According to the report, the player in question violated rule 3.2.7. It states: “Schools and/or individuals judged to be responsible for sportsmanship violations may be penalized under the provisions of the ‘Penalty Code’ contained in Section 5. The Executive Director and/or the Sportsmanship Committee is authorized to warn, place on probation, suspend from competition or participation, for a period of time, a player or coach disqualified for unsportsmanlike conduct.”
