Chef of the Week
In sports the term “cookin” is reserved for a player who goes on a scoring spree or gets hot during a game and makes big plays on the offensive end.
This week’s “Chef of the Week” award winner is 17-year-old Turkish center Omer Yurtseven for his 91-point outing in Fenerbahce’s 115-82 win over 9 Eylul Basketbol Ihtisas.
Yes, that’s 9-1. Yes, as in nine points away from 100.
Yurtseven, who signed with N.C. State last week, went 34 of 49 from the field in the win.
If 91 points isn’t considered Chef-like, nothing is.
Poster of the Week
This week’s Poster of the Week winner is Team United (N.C.) wing Juwan Gary for dropping the hammer on a defender at a recent Big Shots Tournament.
Gary took a pass, went baseline and rose up with two hands over a defender who got there a bit too late.
Check out the big time poster below.
Oh No They Didn’t!
This award is reserved for the player who turned in a mind-boggling performance or play that left the crowd in a state of shock and amazement.
This week’s “Oh No They Didn’t” winner is WE-R1 (Del.) guard Talek Williams for not only catching an alley-oop and pulling off a 360 dunk, but also doing another 360 dunk in the championship game at the Southern Jam Fest in Hampton, Va., this past weekend.
That’s right, Williams managed, not one but two 360 dunks in one weekend… In games.
Check out the alley-oop 360 below.
