CHICAGO – Bentonville (Ark.) shooting guard Malik Monk came into McDonald’s All American week with a reputation as one of the deadliest marksmen in the country, At the POWERADE JamFest on Monday night, he backed that up in the three-point shootout.
Monk scored 21 points in the final round to take home the hardware at the Chicago Theatre and edge Virginia signee Kyle Guy from Lawrence Central (Indianapolis).

“I started slowing down and taking my time,” said Monk, a Kentucky signee. “Just getting more of my legs into it.”
When asked if he thought Kentucky head coach John Calipari would be proud of his big three-point shootout win, Monk said, “I think he should be very proud because I can shoot!”
