North Henderson’s Kalin Ensley has become the second Western North Carolina sophomore to pass for 1,000 yards this fall.
Ensley (1,077 yards and five touchdowns with three interceptions) threw for a season-high 216 yards and one touchdown with one interception in Friday’s 26-14 home loss to Franklin.
Darren Lammons, who is a junior, has been far-and-away the top receiver for the Knights (3-5, 1-3) with 53 catches for 612 yards and three touchdowns. Miguel Lammons (12 receptions for 148 yards and one touchdown) and Colby Thomas (12 receptions for 100) each have a dozen.
Roberson quarterback Ty Gossett (1,445 yards and 12 touchdowns with 10 interceptions) is the other WNC 10th grader who has passed for 1,000 yards this season.
Franklin coach Josh Brooks won his 100th career game Friday in Hendersonville. That is a school record for the Macon County program.
