The Shadow Hills baseball team moved within a single win of a perfect De Anza League slate with an 8-0 shutout of Desert Hot Springs, led by Fernando Rojas’s complete game on the mound where he struck out four batters while giving up one walk and one hit.
At the plate, Sean Roby led the team, going 2 for 4 with three RBIs and one run scored, while Alex Lopez went 1 for 3 with an RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base.
The Knights (18-5, 11-0) finish off their league schedule next Thursday at Yucca Valley at 3:15 p.m.
Desert Christian Academy 10, Redlands Adventist 0: Scott Jones picked up the shutout win on the mound for the Conquerors, giving up just two hits while striking out nine batters and walking just three. Six different players scored in the win for Desert Christian Academy. The Conquerors take the field next on Tuesday at home against Joshua Springs.
Palm Valley 10, Desert Chapel 4: The Firebirds clinched their first Victory League championship, led on the mound by Jacob Melchor, who gave up two hits in his complete game stint.
At the plate, Tyler Neighbors had three hits while scoring three times and registering three RBIs, and Brian Sadler and Jaxon Jabara scored three runs each.
Palm Valley (13-5, 10-0) play next against NuView.
Desert Christian Academy 20, Redlands Adventist 1: With the help of 11 runs in the third inning, the Conquerors scored their ninth win in-a-row and 19th consecutive league win dating back to last season. Thursday’s win also clinched a league title for the Conquerors, as they search for their second undefeated league title in-a-row.
On the mound, Kirsten Ranswill pitched a complete game for her third win of the year, giving up one hit and no walks while striking out three. At the plate, Ashley Klopfenstein led the team, going 3 for 4 with three runs and two RBIs, while Kaylee Espinoza went 3 for 4 with two runs and three RBIs.
The Conquerors (17-2-1, 9-0) play their final regular season game on Tuesday at home against Joshua Springs at 3:30 p.m.
