With opponents likely keyed in on Benji Cordova, La Quinta’s dynamic rushing option, Anderson can provide a deep threat option to keep defenses off-balance. The senior caught 56 balls for 914 yards and seven touchdowns a year ago on a traditional run-first La Quinta team and was named first team All-DVL. Anderson also shined brightest in the bigger games, combining for 405 yards, 15 catches and five scores in a rivalry game against Palm Desert and the team’s quarterfinals playoff win over Burroughs. Look for him to be used plenty on the other side of the passing game, too, as a dynamic quarterback option who’s a threat to run or throw as coach Dan Armstrong looks for him and Andrew Garcia to share the load under center.
