The Fort Collins High School boys soccer team is the No. 8 seed in the Class 5A playoffs and could host at least two games.
The Lambkins are the highest seeded of four local teams who made the playoffs in their respective classifications, with 32-team brackets released on CHSAANow.com on Sunday for each class.
Fossil Ridge joins Fort Collins in the 5A playoffs as the No. 30 seed, while Windsor is the No. 30 seed in 4A and Liberty Common is the No. 21 seed in 3A.
No. 8 Fort Collins (9-3-3) will host No. 25 Lakewood (11-4) in Thursday’s first round. The winner will advance to the second round next week to face the winner of No. 9 Pine Creek and No. 24 Grand Junction.
No. 30 Fossil Ridge (5-9) will play at No. 3 Cherry Creek (11-4) in Thursday’s first round. The victor takes on the winner of No. 14 Lincoln and No. 19 Castle View in next week’s second round.
In 4A, No. 30 Windsor (10-5) will play No. 3 The Classical Academy (13-2) in first-round action Wednesday. The winner moves on to next week’s second round against the winner of No. 14 Standley Lake and No. 19 Pueblo Centennial.
In 3A, No. 21 Liberty Common (10-3-2) will play No. 12 Bruce Randolph (12-3) in Friday’s first round hosted by Colorado Springs Christian. The winner advances to Saturday’s second round to face the winner of No. 5 Colorado Springs Christian and No. 28 Ridgway.
First-round game times are not yet set.
