Coach speak: “This year’s team returns 14 players that went to the section semifinals for the first time in 20 years, including six out of seven of our leading scorers,” Whalen said. “This is an experienced group that has the determination and character to excel. The attitude and commitment that we have to each other as a group will be a significant aspect of how far this team goes. New faces will also play a pivotal role in our success. I am excited to have the opportunity to coach this group and strongly feel that if we can build upon the foundation that is in place and make it a point to improve on a continual basis, we can be a formidable team.”
