White Plains Tigers

League: II-A

Coach: Mark Armogida (15th year)

Assistant: Howie Rubenstein

Last season: 13-6

Returning starters: 4

Marquee players: Brendan Johnson, Sr., A; Tommy Avery, Sr., MF; Liam Broderick, Sr., A; Leo DeSousa, Sr., MF; Austin Burn, Jr., D; Richard Tocto, Sr., D, Matt Scotman, Sr., DM; Eric Brotmann, Jr., A; Julio Cruz, Sr. M/FO.

On the verge: Alex Kenney, Jr., A, Miles Tillman, So., MF.

Playing at the next level: Johnson (Oneonta)

Rivalry games: Our kids get excited to play Mamaroneck, Scarsdale and Stepinac since they are located so close to WP and many of the kids know each other from other sports teams and have competed against each other for a while.

Strong point: We are hoping to be a disciplined team and right now it looks like our defense might be a bit stronger than our offense.

Biggest concern: The offensive midfield needs to come together during our preseason and gain some valuable experience during our scrimmages.

Coach speak: “We lost over 200 points to graduation from the most prolific scoring team in WPHS history,” Armogida said. “If the new players on offense learn how to take care of the ball and our defense can step up, it should be a fun season.”
