Chef of the Week

In sports the term “cookin” is reserved for a player who goes on a scoring spree or gets hot during a game and makes big plays on the offensive end.

This week’s “Chef of the Week” award winners are Mokan Elite’s (Mo.) dominant duo of Michael Porter Jr. and Trae Young for their dominance at Peach Jam last week, especially in the title game.

Porter and Young combined for 61 points, 14 assists, nine rebounds and three steals to claim the most coveted title of the summer.

Dual dominance?

The mark of true chefs.

Poster of the Week

This week’s Poster of the Week winner is Team Final (Pa.) shooting guard Lonnie Walker for the vicious dunk he threw down at Peach Jam last week.

Walker took the pass on the break, took one dribble, rose up in the middle of the lane and cocked it back over a defender who realized too late that jumping was a bad idea.

Check out the rim-rocker below.

Oh No They Didn’t!

This award is reserved for the player who turned in a mind-boggling performance or play that left the crowd in a state of shock and amazement.

This week’s “Oh No They Didn’t” winner is Kyle Marick, an eighth grader, for managing to beat Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook in a one-on-one game.

Yes, really.

At a recent summer camp, Marick and Westbrook played a game to three.

When the game was tied at two, Marick launched a shot from beyond NBA range that sunk through the nets as the camp erupted in chaos.

Check out the big win below.
