If you’ve followed Greater Lansing high school sports for any length of time, you likely recognize these names. All have been honored as a Lansing State Journal Male or Female Athlete of the Year.
Who will win those honors this year? Find out at the Greater Lansing Sports Awards on June 7. At our inaugural event, we’ll unveil the Male and Female Athlete of the Year, in addition to announcing some new awards — Scholar Athlete of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year and Team of the Year.
You won’t want to miss an opportunity to celebrate hundreds of local athletes, may of whom are marking the end of their high school careers. And you’ll also have the opportunity to hear keynote speaker Kirk Cousins, who after leaving his mark on the Michigan State program is the starting quarterback for the NFL’s Washington Redskins.
•If you’re an athlete who’s been named to one of the LSJ’s fall or winter dream teams, we want you to attend the event as our guest. Contact Brian Calloway at firstname.lastname@example.org if you haven’t received an invitation to the event.
•If you’re a parent, Spartan fan or supporter of high school athletes who wants to celebrate and join the party, go to tickets.lansingstatejournal.com to purchase tickets.
•And if you’re a business, booster club or individual that wants to sponsor a table or advertise in our June 12 special section commemorating the Greater Lansing Sports Awards, contact Staci Holmes at email@example.com.
