On March 1, The News Tribune named Malachi Flynn All Area Player of the Year, a very high honor for high school basketball players across the state. He was also the Narrows League MVP as well.
Flynn, who averaged nearly 30 points a game, led the team in one of the greatest regular seasons in Bellarmine Prep history. The Lions went undefeated and won the last league title in the Narrows League era.
Flynn, who was thankful for the opportunities he was afforded, appreciated the support from many. “I would like to thank Coach Salazar, the team, my family, the fans. They were all there for me from the very start and never doubted me. I would also like to give a shout out to the East Side (of Tacoma, Washington) where I grew up.”
Flynn’s collegiate plans are yet to be determined, as he is being recruited by several D1 schools.
