Just hours before, Bentonville (Bentonville, Ark.) shooting guard Malik Monk dropped 41 points in a 78-76 overtime loss to Fayetteville (Fayetteville, Ark.) Friday night, the 6-foot-3, Kentucky signee received an honorary banner during the Jordan Brand Classic Senior Tour presented by American Family Insurance at his school.
Monk was one of 16 players from around the country picked to the play in the game which tips April 15 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Monk, who is ranked No. 8 overall in the ESPN 100, took home MVP of the prestigious Nike Global Challenge in July. This season he’s averaging more than 30 points per game for Bentonville.
Monk is projected to be picked in the middle of the first round of the 2017 NBA Draft by most reputable draft boards.
